This is a drop-in class. Registration not required. $20 per session, paid at the door. CASH ONLY. Draw or paint from a live model on Tuesday evenings. No formal instruction provided; instructor is present to coordinate class and model only. Admission fee includes model fees.

1) You will receive a punch card the first time you attend this class.
2) Your card will be punched each time you attend a full 3-hour session.
3) After four punches your fifth class is free.

SUGGESTED SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate to Advanced Technique
~
Evolve beyond your schematic previsions and muscle memory with this drawing workshop. Learn how to leave your comfort zone and develop your work in new ways. In this two-part workshop, David will help show you how to break down your process, examine your usual conventions of execution and put it all back together in a single large-scale drawing.

This class is intended as a sampler for students who are brand new to drawing. The session will involve specefic exercises designed to help VERY beginning level students build foundational skills. Students will be introduced to basics, including supplies, traditional techniques, and vocabulary/terminology. All materials provided.

PREREQUISITE: Little or no drawing experience

Guided exercises teach students how to see the basic shapes that are inherent in every object. Learn to use line, value, composition, and illusion of depth in an image. Explore different drawing materials. Beginning Drawing or equivalent is strongly recommended in order to take other drawing and painting classes.

PREREQUISITE: Beginning Drawing 1 or equivalent (understanding drawing elements)

Learn to combine all drawing elements into more polished drawings. Continue working from still life as well as learning human form basics. Discuss sketchbook routines and practices, critique, and how to dissect finished work. Beginning Drawing or equivalent is strongly recommended in order to take this and other drawing and painting classes.

PREREQUISITE: Basic drawing skills

Designed to help drawing students begin to learn how to create work on their own, with instructor guidance. Each student creates a course of action that includes overarching concept, number of drawings, materials, and other details. Includes one-on-one guidance and group critiques.

Develop observational skills and learn how best to build figure drawings based on those observations. Examine how to establish 3D relationships of the figure and environment on a 2D surface using several techniques and mediums. Refine your skill development in a stress-free environment. Tuition includes model fees.
